One of the most beautiful formations in Serra dos Órgãos, the Escalavrado is quite visible from the Rio-Teresópolis Highway (BR-116), which cuts through the park. The path to the summit (1,406m) is a "climb" along the slope and access to the trail is via BR-116. Despite the low degree of difficulty, climbing along the edge of Escalavrado is imposing and exuberant, requiring care and attention. A great option for beginners in the sport.
